Adriana Trigiani grew up in Virginia and now lives in New York with her husband. She is an award-winning playwright, television writer, and documentary filmmaker. She is currently at work on the film version of "Big Stone Gap," which she wrote and will also direct. Her latest novel entitled, Very Valentine, is the first in a trilogy of books about an Italian family of shoemakers in greenwich village and their daighter, Valentine, who struggles to bring the family's old-world craftsmanship into the 21st century and save the company from ruin.
