Edward Eager 生于1911年，1935年進(jìn)入哈佛大學(xué)學(xué)習。之后移居紐約并在那里生活了14年。當他找不到一本適合給兒子閱讀的故事書(shū)時(shí)，便開(kāi)始了自己的創(chuàng )作。他作品的獨特之處在于描述普通兒童的生活背景下的魔法故事。
