This story comes from Nanshi in Hanfeizi. A man from the Chu Dukedom brags about the strength of his sharp spears and tough shields. But when people ask him what would happen if someone attacked one of his shields with one of his spears, he cannot answer. This story describes someone whose claims or actions are contradictory.
