      全書(shū)分十八章,分別涵蓋政治制度、法律、文學(xué)、典籍、影視、新聞傳播、傳統文化、社會(huì )流行語(yǔ)、體育、科技、醫藥、氣象、旅游、貿易、動(dòng)植物、餐飲等16個(gè)領(lǐng)域,每一領(lǐng)域成為一章。在內容安排上,每章包括五節,每一節是題解,介紹該領(lǐng)域的基礎知識或基本概念,第二節是該領(lǐng)域的文化對比,介紹中國和西方社會(huì )在該領(lǐng)域的差別。第三節是語(yǔ)言比較,涉及漢語(yǔ)和英語(yǔ)在特定領(lǐng)域的語(yǔ)言使用規律,即相同語(yǔ)義內容的語(yǔ)際表達差異,與翻譯技巧直接關(guān)聯(lián)。該節以特定領(lǐng)域的經(jīng)典例句為載體,對英漢兩種語(yǔ)言在所選定領(lǐng)域的語(yǔ)言差異做了較深入的比較,是對第二節文化差異的呼應和具體化。第四節和第五節分別是中西文化與漢英語(yǔ)言對比的譯例樣板和專(zhuān)業(yè)詞匯對照表。譯例樣板的選題取自該領(lǐng)域較有代表性的語(yǔ)篇,體現文化差異的典型性特征和語(yǔ)際差異的應對技巧,在譯例樣板之后是該領(lǐng)域專(zhuān)門(mén)詞匯和用語(yǔ)的對照列表。

    作者簡(jiǎn)介:  劉宇紅,2003年畢業(yè)于復旦大學(xué),獲文學(xué)博士畢業(yè),同年破格晉升為教授?,F任南京師范大學(xué)外國語(yǔ)學(xué)院教授、博士生導師。2005年分別入選湖南省哲學(xué)社會(huì )科學(xué)研究"百人工程"和"湖南省新世紀121人才工程"。2005年至2006年在美國休斯敦Rice University訪(fǎng)學(xué)。
